Beyond each puzzle, PaneSlide has three kinds of long-term goal: restoring windows in the House, climbing ranks, and collecting badges. None of them is needed to enjoy the game, but they give a nice sense of progress over weeks of play. This guide lists them all.
The House: a window for every chapter
Levels come in chapters of 20, each set in a room: Sunroom, Greenhouse, Lighthouse, Tea Garden, Lantern Market, Lavender Loft, Desert Dunes and Snow Cabin. After the eighth, the rooms repeat as Sunroom II, Greenhouse II and so on.
Each chapter has its own stained-glass window in the House, made of 20 pieces:
- Each level you clear in the chapter lights one piece.
- The boss, every 20th level, completes the window, and the game celebrates with "Window restored!"
- Open the House from the home screen to see every window. You can browse earlier chapters and see how far the current one has come.
The windows are a visual record of your journey. To learn about the real art form, read a short history of stained glass.
Ranks: titles for levels cleared
Your rank depends on how many levels you have cleared. It appears in your Stats and on the end screen, along with how many levels are left until the next one.
| Levels cleared | Rank |
|---|---|
| 5 | Glass Spark |
| 10 | Glass Apprentice |
| 20 | Pane Pusher |
| 30 | Colour Mixer |
| 50 | Glass Master |
| 75 | Prism Pro |
| 100 | Window Wizard |
| 150 | Stained-Glass Sage |
| 200 | Lightkeeper |
| 300 | Grand Glazier |
| 500 | PaneSlide Legend |
Ranks only go up. They count levels cleared, not stars, so every solve counts the same.
Badges: twelve achievements
Each badge gives 10 shards the first time you earn it. You can see the badges you have, and the ones still to come, in Stats.
| Badge | What it needs |
|---|---|
| ๐ช First window | Restore a window (beat your first boss) |
| ๐ Boss breaker | Beat 3 chapter bosses |
| โจ Perfectionist | 10 perfect levels (exactly par) |

| ๐ Gem hunter | Collect 25 gems |
| ๐ Treasure keeper | Collect 100 gems |
| โญ Star collector | 100 stars |
| ๐ Star gazer | 300 stars |
| ๐งช Explorer | Meet 5 new kinds of glass |

| ๐ Week of glass | Open the gift 7 days running |
Tips for each badge
- First window and Boss breaker come naturally at levels 20, 40 and 60. The boss levels guide has a plan for them.
- Perfectionist is easiest on early levels, where par is short. Replay levels from the map once you know the answer.
- On a roll needs five perfect solves in a row. Try it on a run of breather levels (those ending in 1 and 6), which tend to be gentler.
- Gem hunter and Treasure keeper need gem levels, which start at level 33. Look for a pane that crosses the gem's cell on its way to its final spot. The gems guide explains how.
- Star collector and Star gazer reward three-star solves. Three stars need par or par + 1.
- Explorer and Glass expert come from playing on: the nine kinds are locked glass, two-colour pictures, pillars, gems, ice, sand, one-way glass, frosted glass and mystery pictures, introduced at levels 12, 18, 25, 33, 42, 52, 64, 78 and 95.
- Daily solver takes five daily puzzles, each solved on its own day. Archive puzzles are practice and do not count.
- Week of glass needs the daily gift seven days in a row. Missing a day restarts the count.
Why these goals exist
PaneSlide is meant to be calm, so these goals reward steady play rather than long sessions. There are no timers, no leaderboards and no penalties for taking a break. If you miss a day, nothing you earned is taken away.
